MY DESIGN JOURNEY

Jen Gilchrist was born and raised in the sunny state of Arizona. From the moment she could hold a pencil, art became her way of expression. This passion has led to being featured in the Williams Field High School art show for colored pencil art during her Junior year and, while in college, being featured in the MCC Spring art show for a graphite drawing.

Currently, she is a full-time student at Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ. She was selected for a graphic design internship with a local business, where she gets to use her skills as a photographer, designer, and online content marketing creator. She has also started her own graphic design and fine art business called Peaceful Pigments.

Her art typically consists of a surrealist nature, with the intention of evoking emotion, featuring elements such as nature, animals, and places.

She practices residual paint art featured in the What Remains collection, as she believes no paint should go to waste. Most products include originals, prints, tote bags, painted goods, etc.

In the future, she hopes to illustrate her own children's book, as she loves the art of illustration and the ability to tell a story through typography. She comes from a large family with nieces and nephews who inspire her to create art that empowers others.
